Only eight miles west of Redding is California’s Whiskeytown Lake. The lake itself is a great spot for all sorts of water sports, and historic Whiskeytown is a fun diversion that sends you back in time to the area’s mining camp era.

Redding, California’s Big League Dreams complex features replicas of Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium. The fields are three-quarter size and have astro-turf so they can be enjoyed all year round. The complex doesn’t cater only to baseball fans though. There are also sand volleyball courts and a field house for sports such as basketball. Along with a restaurant and children’s play area, Big League Dreams is a California dream come true.
